Submission Preparation Checklist

As part of the submission process, authors are required to check off their submission's compliance with all of the following items, and submissions may be returned to authors that do not adhere to these guidelines.
  • The submission has not been previously published, nor is it before another journal for consideration (or an explanation has been provided in Comments to the Editor).
  • The submission file is in OpenOffice, Microsoft Word, or RTF document file format.
  • Where available, URLs for the references have been provided.
  • The text is single-spaced; uses a 12-point font; employs italics, rather than underlining (except with URL addresses); and all illustrations, figures, and tables are placed within the text at the appropriate points, rather than at the end.
  • The text adheres to the stylistic and bibliographic requirements outlined in the Author Guidelines.

Open access and copyright 

All IJLSCI articles from March 2014 onwards are published with open access under the CC-BY Creative Commons attribution license (the current version is CC-BY, version 4.0 http://creativecommons.org/licenses/by/4.0/). This means that the author(s) retain copyright, but the content is free to download, distribute, and adapt for commercial or non-commercial purposes, given appropriate attribution to the original article.

Upon submission, the author(s) grant IJLSCI an exclusive license to publish, including to display, store, copy, and reuse the content. The CC-BY Creative Commons attribution license enables anyone to use the publication freely, given appropriate attribution to the author(s), and citing Frontiers as the original publisher. The CC-BY Creative Commons attribution license does not apply to third-party materials that display a copyright notice to prohibit copying. Unless the third-party content is also subject to a CC-BY Creative Commons attribution license, or an equally permissive license, the author(s) must comply with any third-party copyright notices.

Article types

International Journal of Life Sciences publishes research papers, case studies, and short communications containing original research work of good standards and review papers of contemporary relevance from all over the world. Following types of contributions are considered for publication:

If one finds difficulty in uploading, then one can send manuscript as an attachment on email to editor@ijlsci.in

Manuscript format should be in MS word only. Charts, Tables, and Diagrams should be in MS Excel or MS Word and images in JPG format using maximum possible 300dpi resolution. All the matter should be typed in Times New Roman Font size - 12 points with single spacing.

AUTHORISATION AND DECLARATION

Authors must accept full responsibility for the content of their articles. The Members of the Editorial Board and the Publisher of the journal are not responsible for the statements and opinions expressed by the authors in their articles/write-up published in the journal. To use the copyrighted material (for example table, figure, etc.), the author/s must seek permission from the Author/s and Publisher of the material and send a copy of the permission letters via e-mail to the Administrative Editor for records. In case, if it is not possible then do not use that material.

While submitting the paper the author (s) must give a declaration that “the article has not been published or sent for publication elsewhere”.

INSTRUCTIONS FOR MANUSCRIPT-FORMAT

a) Page Layout: A4 (21cm × 28 cm) leaving 2 cm margin on all sides of the text. All the text should be single-spaced and the pages should be numbered consecutively.b) Use MS word (2003-2007) for text and TIFF, JPEG, or Paint for figures.

c) The first page should contain:
Title-bold, 16 point size
Name/s of author/s-bold, 11 point size (Surname or Family name first in bold)
Affiliation/s-address of all the author/s followed by an email of the corresponding author in 10 point size
Abstract in italics up to 200 words in 10 point size
Keywords- at least 4-5 keywords in 10 point size

d) Main Text-The paper should be divided into the following sections:
Introduction, Material, and Methods, Results and Discussion, Conclusion,

Acknowledgment and References.
Tables and Figures of good resolution (150 dpi) should be numbered consecutively and given alphabetically by surname or family name in the order of their appearance in the text.

e) Reference style
Text: All citations in the text should refer to:
1. Single author: the author's name (without initials, unless there is ambiguity) and the year of publication;
2. Two authors: For citations with two authors, include both authors' names. and the year of publication; 

Example: (Chavhan and Pawar, 2011)

3. Three or more authors: For citations with three or more authors, list only the first author's name followed by et al. and the year of publication.
Example: (Baig et al. 1999)

Citations may be made directly (or parenthetically). Groups of references should be listed first alphabetically, then chronologically. Examples: "as demonstrated (Baig, 2004a, 2004b, 2010; Chavhan and Pawar, 2011). Jadhao et al. (2000) have recently shown ...."References must be in a separate sheet in the following order: References should be arranged first alphabetically and then further sorted chronologically if necessary. More than one reference from the same author(s) in the same year must be identified by the letters "a", "b", "c", etc., placed after the year of publication.

Literature Cited

Cite only articles that are posted on a preprint server, published, or are in press. To cite personal communications or unpublished results, list all contributors by initials and last name; do not use et al.

Web references
As a minimum, the full URL should be given and the date when the reference was last accessed. Any further information, if known (DOI, author names, dates, reference to a source publication, etc.), should also be given. Web references can be listed separately (e.g., after the reference list) under a different heading if desired, or can be included in the reference list. 

Acknowledgments

The Acknowledgment section allows authors space to recognize and express appreciation to others (Contributors) who have contributed to the study but have not qualified as Authors or Coinvestigators. In this section, list those who have collected data; provided technical assistance; acquired funding; supervised personnel; contributed drugs, reagents, equipment, or participants; or edited the manuscript for non-intellectual content. The list must include the contributors' affiliations and the specific contributions made by each. The Acknowledgment section is also reserved for authors to thank individuals who have provided general advice or guidance, review of the manuscript, and technical help. For those helping in the preparation of the manuscript, specify how they assisted (e.g., performed substantive or technical editing, copyedited the manuscript, prepared tables or figures, or provided clerical assistance).

Changes in Authorship after Submission

The corresponding author must alert and provide an explanation to the editorial office if there is any change in authorship status (addition, omission, or author order) after the manuscript submission. The corresponding author must request and gather letters of agreement from all authors of the manuscript including the author who is being added or omitted. At revision, these statements can be Email. 

ACCEPTANCE
As soon as one submits the paper online, it will appear in heading "Papers Received". When we receive the paper along with the "Declaration of Authors" and either membership subscription or processing fees, we will send your paper to two experts for comments anywhere in the world.
After acceptance by both the experts, we will try our best to inform you regarding acceptance within 2-3 weeks. If it is accepted, we will send you an acceptance letter and your paper will be published at the earliest in coming issues. If your paper is rejected, you can submit to another journal with our prior permission. Please note that your membership subscription or processing fees will not be refunded in any case whether your paper is rejected or accepted.

ARTICLE PROCESSING Charges (APCs)

The Article-Processing Charge of Open Access is Rs.3000/- for India and 250 USD($) for Overseas.

This covers the cost of peer review, editorial, publishing, hosting, and archiving expenses. IJLSCI  articles are open access and subject to an article processing charge (APC) upon acceptance. This charge covers the costs of turning a manuscript into a finished article, as well as the costs of hosting, distributing and promoting an article.

Refund policy

Once an article has been accepted for publication, an Article Processing Charge is due. The submitting author assumes responsibility for the Article Processing Charge, and IJLSCI will not issue refunds of any kind.

PROOFS

Proofs will be sent to the corresponding author via e-mail as an Acrobat PDF (Portable Document Format) which should be returned to the Editorial office within 2 working days.
Acrobat Reader will be required in order to read the PDF.
