Abstract

Jalgaon district in Maharashtra is well known for Banana cultivation and its northern boundary has Satpuda ranges. Considering the higher morbidity due to dangerous malaria, Chikungunya, dengue and other viral fever disorders, survey was made using the patient’s data from primary health centers situated in 15 tehsils of Jalgaon district during July 2023 to   June 2024. Out of 15 tehsils, Chopda, Yawal, Raver and Jalgaon are having village settlements in Satpuda forest, where prevalence of mosquito species was incidental.  Over all, seasonal abundance of Anopheles, Aedes, Culex and Mansonia was found fluctuated from 54.4 to 61.6, 32.5 to 36.9, 5.8 to 8.67 and 0.00 to 0.01 respectively. The higher diversity indices of Anopheles, Aedes, Culex and Mansonia were noted during monsoon season indicating favorable conditions to flourish and reflecting coincidences of vector borne diseases.
