Recent investigation into the seasonal changes of zooplankton in the Zari Dam, located in Tq. Pathri, Parbhani (M.S.), India
Keywords:
Zooplankton, seasonal variation, Zari dam, water quality, ecosystem healthAbstract
Study of seasonal variation recently observed from Zari dam, Parbhani district, Maharashtra showing four group of zooplankton diversity namely, rotifer, cladocera, copepod and ostracoda in which rotifer dominated over three group of zooplankton during July 2022 to June 2023. During the year-long research, it was found that the highest amount of zooplankton was seen in the summer, while the lowest was recorded during the monsoon and winter seasons, with the exception of cladocera, which showed increased numbers in the winter followed by summer season. This minor irrigation Zari dam in the Godavari basin supports diverse zooplankton % wise assemblages, including rotifera, cladocera, copepoda, and ostracoda, which serve as key indicators of water quality and ecosystem health.
